Life event of "Skhawat"
I loved this game so much. You know what I talking about? When I was a child I always had a dream to play cricket for Pakistan National Team. But it was hard and I moved to Hong Kong to study. As Hong Kong is a small city and it is not a big cricketing nation. When I was 14 years old I was selected to play for Hong Kong under-15 national team in Malaysia. I was on the moon that time. It was first experience and it turned out to be a great one. I performed pretty well on my first tour.
There was more to come when I grow up. In 2008, there was this big international tournament named Asia Cup, all great teams were competing such as Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, UAE and Hong Kong team qualified for the second time to play in this. The competition was shown live on TV all over the world. I was struggling with my shoulder and back injury. I knew it could be the only chance to represent Hong Kong at top level and play in front of cameras. Therefore I did not show any concern to my coach and kept training with the team. Team was announced and I was lucky enough to be chosen in the team. It was just like dream come true for me. I had never thought of playing at that stage but god with his grace and mercy gave me all the opportunities and happiness in my life. My whole family was so happy when they saw me playing on TV. It was just a great moment to treasure in my life. My family gave me so much support and never stopped me from playing or anything else. So I owe them a lot of things and I should repay them with something at least.
It has always been fun representing Hong Kong team. You can travel all around the world and play for your country. I had dream of playing for Pakistan but I did not know it would be Hong Kong where I could achieve it.
Cricket has taught me many great things; patience, determination, cooperation, living, etiquette, competitiveness, confidence, and more you can just name it. Now I think passing on my little knowledge to youngsters would be another goal to be achieved.
You should do what you like and you should like what is good for you and your future.
So work hard and success will be yours.
